History of Basketball and Miami Heat-

James Naismith who invented basketball in 1891 was born in Almonte, Ontario. he taught at many schools as a p.e teacher. when he was teaching at Springfield college he made the students dribble a soccer ball up and down a court and to earn points they had to land the ball in a peach basket. Iron hoops and a hammock-style basket were introduced in 1893. years passed by with new improvmets, and the american sport was born. In 1959, James Naismith was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame. one of my favorite basketball teams is Miami Heat, they originated in miami florida. The Heat were formed in 1988 Since then, Miami has fielded squads that have made the playoffs 13 out of the 21 seasons, captured seven division titles and won the 2006 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks 4–2. they wernt always so great, when they first started out they lost their first 17 games.
